It’s time to clean out your unwanted office items! This event is for large/bulky items, electronic waste, and hazardous waste.

Please use the following waste specific guide, for preparing/dropping off your unwanted items.

Reusable items:
Post reusable items on the Sustainability Listserv sustainable@lists.sfsu.edu to see if anyone wants to claim them or drop them off in one of our Goodwill Bins.

Junk item collection (No campus keys/keycards or confidential documents):
Submit a service request, for non-electronic waste & nonhazardous waste items, starting on June 4, 2018 through June 9, 2018.
Enter "SPRING CLEAN UP" in the description field of the service request and list all items needing disposal. Prepare items for disposal by labeling items
“SPRING CLEAN UP”. Items will be picked up, throughout the summer 2018.
Electronic waste drop-off:
Please review the University’s e-waste policy, before dropping off items.

Drop-off e-waste items at the Fine Arts Garage between 10am-12pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 and between 10am-12pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018. An EHS representative will be on site, during e-waste collection hours.

Hazardous waste collection:
Email your Hazardous materials collection request to sfehs@sfsu.edu starting on June 4, 2018 through June 9, 2018. Please include “SPRING CLEAN-UP/ HAZMAT ITEMS” in the subject field. Please include the contact name, e-mail and phone number, best time to call, Inventory of Hazmat items to be collected, location of hazmat items (Bldg., Room Number), in your email.
Label Hazmat items "EHS PICK-UP." Items will be picked up, throughout the summer 2018.
Hazmat items include; Old, Expired, Unknown Chemicals, Paints, Aerosol cans, Paint thinners, Solvents, Cleaning agents, Detergents, Oils, lubricants, Batteries (all types), Mercury-containing light bulbs (CFLs), Tube lights, Mercury-containing thermometers.

*If your unwanted item is University Property with a SF State Property Asset Tag, please call 415-405-3584 or 415-338-1365, before disposing or requesting a disposal.
